I had the immense chance to take a ride in the Noble M600. The driver took me for a blasting ride around Monaco, following the F1 track. The sound of the car is really low and powerful. He did some huge accelerations in the tunnel and in other parts of Monaco. In the tunnel we were behind an Aston Martin Volante which was obstructing the way for us ! After the tunnel, the driver told me he was sorry about the Aston Martin in the front, he couldn’t accelerate… (lol). The turbo noise when he stops accelerating is very very nice. If I had to went out of Top Marques with only one car, it would be this one. It the only car in the world like this : it’s very light (1200 kg) and very powerful (650 hp), like the Ferrari F40 it has a 4.4L V8 with two turbos. It has no ABS. Exclusive, rare (they only make 12 a year) and hand built in England, the Noble M600 has broken the supercar mould. Lightweight carbon bodied and powered with a bespoke 650bhp V8 twin turbo, the M600 is unhindered by ubiquitous digital assistance. The M600 is nimble ans beautifully engineered with an analogue purity that rewards driver skill. Enjoy the ride !

Yet again, I have another Top Gear series 18 unseen clip. And the footage today is from episode 1 again, where this time it is at the Nardo Test Track. If you can’t remember that challenge, it is the one where they are driving around that huge, massive oval / circle track to see which car can get to a faster speed. Anyway, the video. Anyway, if you can’t stretch your memory that long ago, here is what happened on that weekend: Challenge: Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are in Italy – Lecce to be exact – and this week it’s for one of their big road trips and supercar shootouts. They are attempting to find which mid-engined supercar is better than a Ferrari 458 Italia. Hammond chose a Noble M600, May a McLaren MP4-12C and Clarkson a Lamborghini Aventador. The team begin by trying to find out how fast they dare to go and the fuel consumption at such a speed by performing top speed runs at the Nardo Ring Test Track, which turned out that both Hammond and Clarkson got 204 miles per hour (with Hammond faster for 0.5mph) and May for 201mph. The trio then head to Rome to find a restaurant at the central of the city, a challenge that May won as Clarkson had to find a parking space and Hammond’s car had failed during the drive at the Italian countryside. Finally, the trio had to take part in the time trial challenge, in which that all must set their fastest time around …
