De Tomaso
The next car from De Tomaso was the De Tomaso Pantera. It was also with the ford engine. It was produced soon after the production of the Mangusta cars ended in the year 1971. And within 2 years about 6000 Pantera cars were produced. This was really a success for De Tomaso during the early years. The Pantera became so famous in the US and other regions of the world. But, Ford discontinued with the Pantera deal because of the oil crisis and other such reasons. If ford didn’t do that, then more than 6000 units would have been produced. This was a really bad news for the people in the us who were so excited to get a De Tomaso Pantera. The oil crisis of the 1970′s affected other cars as well. Ford followed the same policy against all of them.
Pantera cars were produced till the 1980′s and it was available for a pretty cheap price than it’s rivals like the Ferrari’s and other cars. The Pantera was with luxurious interiors as well as with better engines. During this time, in the early 80′s, the rate of production of the Pantera cars were decreased hugely. It was like 100 units per year. In the year 1980, De Tomaso came with the GT5 model. It was a better car than the Mangusta and the Pantera. It was with luxurious interiors and bigger wheels than the previous models.
De Tomaso Guara is one of the latest cars from De Tomaso and its production started in the year 1993. After that in 2003, De Tomaso came with ideas about develping a super car named Bigua . De Tomaso got big deals later on in the year 2003 and are planning to build like more than 10,000 cars in the near future.
