Ferrari
History of Ferrari
Enzo Ferrari is the man behind Ferrari automobiles. Well, the production of the Ferrari cars started in the year 1947. Well, the first Ferrari car was not with a powerful engine. It was just a 1.5 litre engine. In the year 1961, there occured some sort of problems between one of the sales manager of Ferrari and Enzo’s wife. And finally what happened was, Enzo suspended that guy from his company. Like him, many others who were of much reputation at Ferrari were dismissed. People even started thinking that Ferrari is gonna close soon. But, Enzo was pretty confident in himself. He knew what he should do. He had a good determination. And those who got out of Ferrari, started a new company called ATS. It became one of the rivals of Ferrari. At this time, Ferrari was developing one of it’s latest cars of that time, which was the 250 GTO. Since, many of the experienced personnals walked away from Ferrari, it was like an impossible task for Ferrari to complete the development of the 250 GTO. Well, at last with the help of one of Ferrari’s engineer Mauro Forghieri, the work of this cool car was completed successfully. Jaguar cars where one of the rivals of Ferrari at that time. Still, GTO was able to compete with those cars. This way Forghieri made 1960′s the years of success for Ferrari.
Later, in 1966, Ford cars started to impress the public by defeating Ferrari cars in the races like 24 Hours of Lemans. So the mid 60′s were not that fruitfull for Ferrari. And at the end of the 60′s the Porsche cars came into action. They started dominating the races in the 70′s with their Porsche 908. This became a real headache to Ferrari at that time. Ferrari then came back to action with their 312PB. It started dominating the races again. It was in 1983, Ferrari planned to withdraw from sports car racing. In 1988, Enzo died, and after that the demand and price for used cars was increased. In 1996, Ferrari hired Micheal Schumacher. He started winning races for them in F1. And Schumacher set world records winning the World Driver’s Championship from the years 2000 to 2004. And in the year 2006 he retired from F1.
