Lamborghini manufactures sports cars and it was founded in the year 1963. Ferruccio Lamborghini is the man behind Lamborghini. One of the first cars from Lamborghini is the 350GT. And the first sports car from Lamborghini is the Lamborghini Miura. It got it’s name from the famous bull trainer Don Edunardo Miura. About 100 units of Miura were sold the within the first 2-3 years. After Miura, the next one was the Espada. It was with a 4.0 litre V12 engine. It is a four seater and the top speed is almost 150 mph.
In the year 1971, the production of LP500 Coutach started. It was with the same engine that was in the Miura. After that, Lamborghini thought of increasing the capacity of it’s engine, and then they have introduced the LP5005 Countach with a 5.0 litre engine.
In 1972, Lamborghini planned to increase the facilities at his factories so that he can easily manufacture cars in bulk quantities. The same year, he started facing financial problems. For the same reason, he sold his tractor business. His automobile business started to become a real success. But, after sometime, he thought of leaving the industry and thus sold it to a rich investor from switzerland.
In the year 1987, Lamborghini was then sold to Chrysle Corporation. Lee Iacocca was the person who bought it. Lamborghini started thinking about producing another super car. And it was the Diablo. The design of Diablo was made by the same person who designed the Miura. . It was again sold. And it was in the year 1994. This time it was an investment group called Megatech from Indonesia who bought Lamborghini. They were with strong determination and they have done a lot of changes in the the management section of the company. This was the time when Lamborghini started to become famous. The sales were going on increasing day by day. The sales were about 100 in the year 1993. But when it was 1995, it rose to almost 450.
Lamborghini Diablo SV was presented in front of the public in the year 1995. This time it was with a cool new engine which was much powerful than the Miura engines. It is capable of generating 525bhp. And thus it became one of the highly demanded Diablo cars of that time. Then they have launched the Diablo SVR. It was in 1996. And just after an year, it was again sold.
Audi AG is the new owner of Lamborghini this time. Murcielago is the first car that has been produced under Audi’s leadership. Audi has a good determination and skills needed to run Lamborghini. It has been producing some of the best cars in the world so far.
