History of Maserati
Maserati was founded in 1914. It was the Maserati brothers who started the company. They were Mario, Carlo, Ettore, Ernesto, Bindo and Alfieri. These people were highly skilled and were good at building cars. Well, in 1932, one of the Maserati brothers named Alfieri Maserati died and from then on the company was managed by Ettore, Ernesto and Bindo. After running it for about five they planned to sell some shares of it. So, in 1937, Adolfo Orsi bought the shares of the company from the Maserati brothers. He shifted the company to Modena. The Maserati brothers were still in the company busy with works. This way Maserati cars started winning cars for years. And in 1939, it was with the Maserati 8cTF that they got the Indianpolis 500.
After some years, Maserati got new talents and one of them was Alberto Massimino who was really one of the best engineers of that time who was having good experience working Ferrari and other such automobile companies. He played a very good role in the growth of Maserati as a sports car manufacturer. Well, he worked in some of the best projects of Maserati like the 8CLT, the A6 series cars and even in the 4CLT cars.
It was after an accident to one of it’s drivers, Maserati planned to build road cars. The first road car was with a V 8 engine. It was actually a coupe with 4 seats. And the next road car was the Maserati Sebring. The production of these cars started in the year 1962. Maserati was pretty quick in producing cars. They have launched the Mistrall the next year. It was again a coupe. This way, the Maserati cars started becoming popular among people all over the world.
After 1968, new models with great engines started coming from Maserati. Some of the great models from then on are the Maserati Bora, Maserati Khamsin and Maserati Quattroporte. And in 1993, the company was sold to Fiat. Fiat has invested a lot of money in Maserati and from then on the cars produced by Maserati are really the stunning ones that has amazed people all over the world.
