History of McLaren
McLaren Automotive was founded in the year 1989. The first car from McLaren was the McLaren F1. It is one of the best cars of the world. It cost pretty high as well. McLaren started it’s journey with this cool F1. It helped them win a lot of races on the tracks the first year itself. It is a coupe with three seats. And the driver’s seat is at the middle of the car. The cost of this cool F1 from McLaren is about 1100 K USD. The person who made the design of the McLaren F1 is Gordon Murray. Full credit goes to Murray for doing such a great work.
Production of McLaren F1 cars started in the year 1992. The McLaren F1 LM was launched in 1995, ie after three years. Then McLaren started the works of McLaren GTR. And the production started in 1995 and ended in the year 1997. The production of the McLaren GTR cars went just for 2 whole years. And finally McLaren planned to stop the production of the F1 cars when the number of cars produced reached to 100. And it was in 1998, the production of McLaren F1 cars ended. Well, during this time about 64 McLaren F1 cars were produced and the rest were the LM, GT and GTR models.
The McLaren F1 GTR cars started dominating the races that time with taking positions like first, second and fourth in one of the famous races. And in 1998, the production of the McLaren Mercedes MP4 cars started. Well, these cars were first laucnched just in Australia. And in 1999, McLaren got another contract. And it was for designing Mercedes Benz SLR. And the works of the Mercedes Benz McLaren SLR completed in 2006. This car was with a top speed of 340 kmph. After the success of the SLR, the Mercedes Benz McLaren SLR Convertible was laucnhed. This car would be available for the public from 2008 onwards.
