I had the immense chance to take a ride in the Noble M600. The driver took me for a blasting ride around Monaco, following the F1 track. The sound of the car is really low and powerful. He did some huge accelerations in the tunnel and in other parts of Monaco. In the tunnel we were behind an Aston Martin Volante which was obstructing the way for us ! After the tunnel, the driver told me he was sorry about the Aston Martin in the front, he couldn’t accelerate… (lol). The turbo noise when he stops accelerating is very very nice. If I had to went out of Top Marques with only one car, it would be this one. It the only car in the world like this : it’s very light (1200 kg) and very powerful (650 hp), like the Ferrari F40 it has a 4.4L V8 with two turbos. It has no ABS. Exclusive, rare (they only make 12 a year) and hand built in England, the Noble M600 has broken the supercar mould. Lightweight carbon bodied and powered with a bespoke 650bhp V8 twin turbo, the M600 is unhindered by ubiquitous digital assistance. The M600 is nimble ans beautifully engineered with an analogue purity that rewards driver skill. Enjoy the ride !
This time I recorded an Aston Martin DB9 starting up and revving. The engine is a 6.0 V12 producing 455hp. 0 – 100km/h takes 4.9 seconds and the top speed is 300km/h! Peter Bowerman’s (aka Spear) 5th & 6h race in the FAA Golf GTI and Classic Touring Car Championship (round 3) 2nd October 2011 at the exclusive Ascari Race Resort circuit. The day stated well with Spear qualifying first, but then missing the grid entrance by a minute with 7 other cars, as the race had been brought forward slightly. This meant that he had to start from the pit lane for the first race and fight from the back of the grid. Angry with loosing his first place and starting well behind the back of the grid, he pushed extra hard and took a risk with some instant overtaking moves including the outside of the fastest corner leading onto the back straights, but luckily they all paid off and he finally got third place. See some of the action in the video above, unfortunately some great action was missed in the second race as the new HD Hero camera batteries ran flat. In the second race of the weekend Spear managed to steel first place on the last couple of corners. Stephen had a promising start overtaking a few cars quickly, but in the first few laps of the second race pushed a little too hard and lost control of his GTI in the Ascari S’s and smashed into the barrier and rolled his car. Stephen made a quick exit and was fine, but unfortunately his car was written off. Stephen is hoping to have a car built in 4 weeks ready for the next race weekend again at Ascari Race Resort circuit on the 12& 13th of November 2011. Yesterday I had a great day during an ”Autobahn Run”. We had a few nice cars together and I participated with my GTI. In this first video you see two black Lamborghini Gallardos, one is totally stock, but the other has a Tubi exhaust and Testpipes. Thanks to that modification, this Gallardo has a very loud and high sound!
